This web site contains files developed by or describing the activities of the Federal Communications Commission's Technological Advisory Committee's working group on spectrum management (SWG) during the second term of the TAC (2001-??).
SWG activities and documents from the first term of the TAC are at earlier (first term) documents.
Dewayne Hendricks chairs the SWG. You can reach him at Dewayne Hendricks.

Clicking on the link below will give you a listing of all the comments filed with the FCC's Spectrum Task Force. Individual filings can then be retrieved. Note, the FCC's system is sometimes slow during the business day on the east coast of the USA (roughly 13:00---22:00 GMT).

Below are links to four files that contain reports of measurements of spectrum occupancy at the 2 GHz region of the spectrum in the Washington DC area. These reports were prepared on behalf of XM Radio, the satellite audio broadcaster, and were filed at the FCC. Sorry, I don't know which proceeding. The documents contain many images and are thus quite large (about 7 Mbytes each). One caveat, the spectrum analyzer scans were done with the analyzer set on peak holding. Thus, the little glitches of ignition noise shown are not necessarily continuously present. Be careful interpreting these pictures---they are not exactly displays of average spectrum occupancy.
